Phoenix Group adopted a Salvation Army-staffed “Senior Home” (Hogar Jackson) in January 2016. The home has 11 abandoned “Ancianos” (old folks) living there and it is in a neighborhood with a heavy presence of gangs. Mike McNicholas, Managing Director of Phoenix Group, met the director of “Senior Home” at the 3 Kings Day Party held at a Colón Orphanage and he mentioned they were having a challenge obtaining enough donations of food for the residents. Phoenix Group delivered enough food for a month, which included 50 lbs of rice, beans, oil, juice, cans of Ensure, milk, vegetables, chicken, fish, and also cleaning supplies. Phoenix Group now makes deliveries on a monthly basis.
